Mails: Any Realistic Questions For Zlatan?

In a rather short mailbox that avoids one particular subject, there's a lot of love for Brian McDermott and Rob's '94/'95 season review plus an appeal for realistic Zlatan questions...

Self-Indulgent Players
Philip Cornwall asks "Will clubs sell indulgent players?" And the pithy answer is "not if they're any good, no."

There is a sliding scale of talent versus indulgence, the more talented a player the more, rather unsurprisingly, they are indulged. And this leads to a question I've often wondered. Exactly what would a player have to do to be totally shunned from Football?

Is there a crime a man could commit that would render a 'sweet left foot' or 'footballing genius' too poisonous for any football league chairmen or manager to touch? Assuming a conviction and prison sentence follows said crime, I rather suspect not. Any chairman or manager can always claim "The lads' done his time and deserves a second chance," and maybe that's true. Or maybe there are some crimes that are unforgivable? I'm not sure. I guess we'll never know till Messi starts eating babies.

Sympathy
Good luck to Rangers in these troubling and uncertain times.

Just don't come back too soon.

Congrats
What a day... Reading grafting another victory, back in the playoffs.

Great work Brian McDermott, a very underappreciated manager. Just look at what he has done since taking the helm at the royals. No money, sold our best players and still maintains a playoff place. A great manager in the making. Take a note Premier League (whispers).

Also I got engaged.

Fan Mail For Rob
Tuesday afternoon's was an absolute cracker but the contribution from Rob Melia really was the cherry on top of this quite lovely day.

His summary of the 94/95 season was pure quality and I genuinely LOL'd. I for one would love to see him have a crack at other seasons.

Oh and I looked it up, Glenn Helder didn't end up in a 2Unlimited tribute band but has had a rather eventful life post football!

In response to John Doe, wait until you fill your desktop with excel sheets, calculators (or whatever corporate minutiae applies) while leaving one line of text on the 365 site readable in the background somewhere on screen.

Not only does it not look like you're reading emails, it looks like you're actually working.
Painstaking, but worth it.

xcellent decision, probably one of VERY few footballers who will be remembered as leaving the club after scoring the champions league winning goal with his very last kick! Not many get that tag in football!

his is for the best, his hunger would be in serious question now after winning everything with us. A true Chelsea legend, up there with Osgood and Zola, come back and see us now and then Didier. And as Martin Tyler said on Saturday night....he is immortal at Chelsea. What a way to go out eh....Good luck big man wherever you land next.

ne of the many delights of the final few seconds of the season was seeing little Mike Owen with his trackie off and full replica kit on, getting ready to celebrate having contributed NOTHING all season. Would have been on a par with Terry's carry-on in Munich.
