Dedryck Boyata: Recalled back to Manchester

A statement on City's official website read: "The Belgian defender could well continue his education at another club in the coming weeks having played just eight games for Steve McLaren's side."

The 22-year-old spent also last season on loan with Bolton, but was unable to prevent the Trotters being relegated to the Championship.

City have also revealed that Italian striker Luca Scapuzzi, 21, has joined Serie B side AS Varese on loan until the end of the season.
