Aguero: Title still in reach

Manchester City may be fighting a twelve-point deficit in the Premier League, and have taken just one point from their last three games, but Sergio Aguero believes that they can still win the title.

12 points is a massive cushion but with 36 points to play for who knows what might happen between now and the end of the season. After Uniteds bottle job of epic proportions last season you can't rule anything out.If United drop points prior to the derby and City win the derby it will make things very interesting for the run in.

I know it's over. And it never really began. But in my heart blah blah blah

bun9 is right - it would be a cock-up of monumental proportions is United were to lose it from this position. What will make the realistic United fans a little uneasy is that it was a cock-up of even bigger proportions (8 points from 6 games is statistically harder than 12 from 12) which lost them the title last year. So no we know that United are capable of bottling it in the run-in it would be best if chickens were not yet counted. I still expect United to win it (and probably by a record points total too) because City are just not the competitive team they were last year.

United have to drop 12 points from the remaining 12 games. Just to put it into context they have dropped 13 from the 26 games played thus far. It would be a cock-up of monumental proportions if they didn't win it now. I think if United win 3 out of the next 4 league games (Home games against Norwich and Reading and away games at Q.P.R and West Ham) then you'd think that's it and that's assuming City get maximum points from their next 4 (Home games against Chelsea and Wigan and away games at Villa and Everton).

You see, I'm tempted tp put my har on it now. I'm aware that may be tempting fate, but I just don't see how City are going to swing 12 points. I don't think the gap will finish at 12, it may be a slittle as one, but there's no way Ferguson is letting this title get away from him now. Not after last season. All the gap deos is allow us to relax and concentrate on other compatitions a litle more.

After what happened last season I am not taking anything for granted. Until it is mathematically impossible for anyone to catch us I will not be celebrating. Even then I'll still be looking over my shoulder.

The headline may as well have been "Aguero: Deluded".

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
