Chants could be heard from the home fans as City came from behind to win thanks to two goals from Sergio Aguero to boost their chances of progressing from Group D of the UEFA Champions League.

The Ivory Coast international admitted he was disappointed with the actions of some fans and has called on UEFA to take firm action.

"It is quite disappointing when you're talking about people continuing to do that," Toure told Sky Sports 2HD. "It is unbelievable and very sad on my part.

"I think UEFA need to do something strong. It would be nice if we could stop that.

"Some of the songs today were quite stupid and I think UEFA have to do the work. Every time we say something it continues, something has to be done to stop it."

Asked what action he would like to see the European governing body take, Toure called for stronger punishment in place of the often small fines which have been handed out in the past.

"They need to do a lot," added Toure. "I think UEFA has to be stronger, and hold all the clubs and all the fans that do that (responsible). Maybe they have a stadium ban.

"For me as an African player it is always said to hear something like that and we need to do something about it."

Later Toure tweeted: "Thank you for your support! Hate or racism cannot affect me when so many people are showing me love and support on a daily basis! I believe in football institutions, I know decision makers will take their responsibilties and show a red card to racism."

City manager Manuel Pellegrini said he had not heard the chanting, but hopes action is taken against the offenders.

"It is a pity that these things happen and I hope that the right measures are taken," noted Pellegrini.

e made his power play to try and get Sheikhy to raise his wages or trade him to PSG. PSG were probably not interested and he is stuck with no cake and no vacation. @Jay_D> Surely you jest about FFP being real, right? All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
