City beat CSKA 2-1 in Moscow two weeks ago but that game was marred by monkey chants aimed at Toure for which the Russian club have since been punished by UEFA.

"Every time that we see something like that - racist chanting and things like that - we get very frustrated," Zabaleta told Sky Sports News.

"What happened with Yaya last time - he was a little bit down after the game but we tried to give him our support."

Zabaleta also admitted being pleased for Costel Pantilimon who is set to start in goal ahead of Joe Hart for the third game running.

"I'm very pleased for him - he has been working very hard for many years and now he has the chance to show the fans and players that he's a great goalkeeper.

"We have two players for every position at this level and we need to perform well week in, week out to keep your place in the team and then the manager will decide who are the best players for each game."

A win against CSKA Moscow at the Etihad Stadium, coupled with victory for Bayern Munich at Viktoria Plzen, would see City progress to the Champions League knockout stages for the first time.

Manchester City v CSKA Moscow is live on Sky Sports 2HD at 7pm

f I were Manuel Pellegrini I would keep quiet and hope the Board didn't notice City not winning anything. If he isn't sacked I'd be astonished.
