The 28-year-old has featured 11 times in the Premier League so far this season for City, despite suggestions of a switch back to Italy over the summer.

Kolarov joined from Lazio in 2010 and having been recently linked with a move to both Napoli and Inter Milan, the Serbian international admits that he would consider a return to the country where he plied his trade for three years.

"I would love to return to the Italian league one day," he told the Sun.

"I have seen stories about me going back, although I have not spoken to anyone about it.

"I've been playing more since Manuel Pellegrini's arrival. But let's see what happens."
