Nir Biton: Says he almost joined Man City

The Israel international says he is enjoying his time with the Scottish champions and with the team 10 points clear of their nearest challengers, Biton is confident that the team will return to the Champions League.

The defensive midfielder has said that he is happy at Celtic and does not see himself leaving the club in the near future.

The 22-year-old has had a sustained run of games in the first team, making 15 appearances in all competitions.

Speaking about the City trial, Biton told the Daily Record: "I think they liked me at Manchester City but it's in the past and it didn't happen."

He added: "I have come to a club that is not much smaller than Manchester City and I can't imagine being anywhere else.

"Now I am a Celtic player and want to improve myself at this big club and for the coach who believes in me.

"Maybe the perfect scenario is that I can meet (Roberto) Mancini again next season and Celtic play Galatasaray. I hope that happens."
