The 20-year-old midfielder, who has never played in the Premier League, is currently on loan at Birmingham City.

Huws, whose sole appearance for his parent club was as a 77th minute substitute against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup last month, has represented Wales at U17, U19 and U21 level.

His first call-up for the national team came last November but, on that occasion, did not feature against Finland.

However, the absence of Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey, who has been out of action since Boxing Day with a thigh injury, could help him secure his first cap for the senior team next week.

Manager Chris Coleman said of Huws: "He's a good player. City think highly of him. He was the ideal choice to replace Aaron Ramsey.

"But we must give him experience slowly and steadily, and not rush things."

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale is also named in Coleman's 23-man party for the match on Wednesday, March 5.

Crystal Palace have the greatest representation in the squad with four members - Wayne Hennessey, Danny Gabbidon, Jonathan Williams and Joe Ledley.

The latter is the most capped player of the 23 with 50 internationals already under his belt.

Wales squad: Wayne Hennessey, Boaz Myhill, Owain Fon Williams, James Collins, Ben Davies, Danny Gabbidon, Chris Gunter, Adam Matthews, Ashley Richards, Samuel Ricketts, Neil Taylor, Ashley Williams, Joe Allen, Jack Collison, Emyr Huws, Andy King, Joe Ledley, Jonathan Williams, Gareth Bale, Simon Church, Jermaine Easter, Hal Robson-Kanu, Sam Vokes.

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
