Kompany: I'm living the dream

The Belgium defender lifted his second Premier League trophy in three years as City brushed aside West Ham 2-0 to end the campaign two points clear of nearest challengers Liverpool.

Kompany scored the second shortly after the interval after Samir Nasri had broken West Ham's dogged resistance in the 39th minute.

And while much is made of the millionaire lifestyle of Premier League footballers, Kompany insisted the pure joy which goes with winning silverware is what he plays the game for.

Kompany told Sky Sports: "Forget about the money, forget about everything. As a kid, you grow up as a six-year-old, and all you dream of is playing games, winning games and lifting trophies.

"That's all I've dreamed of, not the rest, I've dreamed of lifting trophies and I feel like I am achieving that dream when I am doing this.

"We're building a club, not just a team. That's why I'm excited to be here, that's why every single year I have a feeling we need to be better, and next year we need to be even better.

"If we want to be a big club, this should be one of so many. It will take a lot of work, but people are ready for it."

Kompany paid tribute to his team-mates after arguably the most dramatic season in the history of the Premier League as City finished top of the pile despite only being at the summit for 14 days this term.

He added: "It's unbelievable. I think this team has got more than just talent, it's got a real soul and a heart to it and I'm incredibly happy for this team.

"I'm prepared for anything in football. Whenever we do well I'm happy for this club and the fans.

"The way we have finished this season is a credit to how we have always prepared, every single game and how we have always believed in ourselves."

I

expect Pulis to have a nice Christmas dinner with his family- probably all sitting around the table wearing Christmas themed baseball caps, before he gets the call. Realistically he could end up at any number of clubs, it'll be interesting to see which club folds first.

For Foxes' Sake, Call The Pulis...

A

s a Liverpool fan, I personally hate Palace. My pick would probably be Arsenal, which is funny because it seems the vast majority of their own fans don't even like them right now.
