The Hoops looked to have sealed a loan deal to bring the 22-year-old Swede to Parkhead late on Monday evening.

However, the paperwork reportedly did not go through in time for the loan switch to be completed.

Guidetti spent six months on loan at Stoke last season but made just a handful of appearances for the Potters without once finding the back of the net.

He has also been loaned out to Dutch giants Feyenoord, while his sole outing for parent club City came almost four years ago in a League Cup tie.
