Sir Alex Ferguson is confident Robin van Persie will be fit to face Real Madrid after the Manchester United striker picked up an injury in the 2-0 win over QPR.
m absolutely disgusted that I've been misquoted in saying that if a chance came up to join Arsenal I would be interested. What I meant to say is if Man United or Chelsea were interested......
FC league positions and points from last 4 seasons - 7 (61), 8 (52), 6 (58), 7 (63). Werner calls it progress, I call it mid table stability.
s there a PR agency covering Begovich, Odemwingie, Steven Fletcher and Grant Holt or something? Why would you offer a quote like that without having been announced by either club. #headsshoulderskneesandtoesgone

@cferns, you sure its not Rooney who should be worried about Pepe applying his gentle touches on his helpless frame? After-all he did call him to be an "idiot" on Twitter back in 2011, part of the reason I found it so amusing he was subbed off 1 minute after Pepe was subbed on in the first round.

You're right, redbornandbred. Football definitely needs more lawyers involved. That's what would make it truly perfect. It's bad luck, but I imagine the Fa signs off on all the ground facilities including cameras etc, so QPR are covered. After all, no one batted an eye when every team brought the ad boards right next to the sideline whenever Stoke visited with Delap.

Robin VP had an accident that was waiting to happen. He fell into a hole dug on the authority of the QPR board. If he is out for a significant period, his club will presumably seek compensation from its insurer. In this case which I trust all lovers of sport would hate to see happen (unliike one or two bitters who have posted on the Guardian website today), surely the insurer has a case against QPR and whichever media organisation was complicit in the accident. After all if that was any other workplace, wouldn't 'injury lawyers for you' be calling both the player and the club. Why haven't the media picked up on this?
