s.griffin, or if he went over & kicked a kid. macca_07, yeah that's it because he won the League that year didn't he, oh wait... what he didn't win the League & here I was thinking that he got the better of Fergie. And again am I mistaken or did the game not end in a draw, so how did Rafa get the better of Fergie.

Utterly trivial issue, however does highlight what a hypocrite Ferguson is. Will swap him for Rodgers though.

Maybe Fergie didn't remember who he was. That's about the respect he deserves (and gets from his own fans).

If Rafa thinks he can talk the complete drivel he does and get any respect from the best manager in the country, then he's simply an idiot. When you have both sets of fans mocking the manager....he's not really someone you want to be associated with. Now back to bridge....so we can laugh at Rafa some more! Perhaps when Rafa decides to act like a man, grow a pair and apologises to Fergie for his meltdown, maybe then he can expect a handshake. I dont think Fergie will care because Rafa will disappear again come May after simply proving how rubbish a manager he is.

@moondance - I can go off on one at times. I think my point still stands - there are managers who play the press well, and ones who do it badly. I'll spend more time on Mediawatch - thanks for the recommendation. But that's not the same as Redknapp looking like a t*t in front of the cameras thanks to his own clumsiness or temper, a la Dalglish (only when he speaks about Liverpool), Wenger (only recently), and Mancini (only when he speaks about football). Even Mancini gets off relatively lightly (and rightly so) cos he has a couple of trophies under his belt - if Wenger had accused his nearest rivals of being ahead because they were 'lucky' we'd still be reading about it now. It's the skill of the manager that makes the press choose targets in a particular way, not the other way around.

A pre-match handshake? Seriously? They shook hands at the end, what's the issue.........

@big dave are you ok dude ? Now that is what you call a rant but better to get it out of your system on a Monday morning ! You ask "how often do you see Redknapp being made to look stupid in the press" ? I take it you're not familiar with the Mediawatch section of this site ?

@gunner14: Wenger: why are you looking at me? Journalist: because its your press conference Arsene. That's exactly what he said. It's a bit out of context, but it's word for word what was said. It came after the bit where Wenger accused one of the journalists present of making up a story about him being offered a new contract (but admits he doesn't know which). The guy from the Daily Mail asks why Wenger is looking at him (as in 'it wasn't me Arsene') and then the exchange above occurred. Ferguson took exception recently to two papers who made up a story about Rooney being out of favour and on his way in the Summer. So he banned them. There's a fine line between freedom of the press and censorship, but how happy are you with Wenger having to deal with someone making up a story about a new contract, and not knowing which one of them it was? And having to invite them back to the club several times a week to make a living out of the club?

Who gives a toss about whether they shook hands or not? Is it that big a deal? I honestly don't understand why this is newsworthy!

And Wenger didn't say "why are you looking at me?"....he wasn't audtioning for Taxi Driver.
