@Besatt, so based purely on the testament of a Swedish TV reporter who was allegedly in the tunnel that night, you think the punishments are not severe enough? Right, ok..... Given that in 200 games in the CL, Sir Alex Ferguson has never missed a media apppointment after the game, on what basis would you increase the severity his punishment? Tell me, did you even stop to think, just for a second, before you typed that comment. I suspect you simply read the monetary amount and started venting. @solskjaer99, it's scandalous that people choose to "forget" Fergusons achievements at Aberdeen when running the rule over his career. Selective doesn't even come close to describing it...........

@alex_the_red Sir Alex Ferguson has surpassed Paisley already, only Liverpool fans think otherwise. The Champions League is a lot harder to win than the old European Cup was, that and Ferguson's domestic achievements, the fact that he built his own team from scratch rather than inheriting one, nevermind his rarely mentioned achievements at Aberdeen make Sir Alex the greater manager by every criteria. As for those calling for a greater fine, the fine he got wasn't far off what clubs have had for clubs with racist fans, do you really think Ferguson not doing a press conference is worse than racism?

@Besatt> Probably because UEFA know the ref was wrong. Give any bans and you have the appeal process and United players, manager, every footballing pundit/expert & every footballing website once again bad mouthing the ref, calling him incompetent as well as bad mouthing UEFAs support of him. And what exactly would a touchline ban accomplish, apart from once again helping everyone discuss that incident?
So the easy way out is fine SAF, reduce Nani's ban and hope everyone forgets about this injustice asap.
@alex_the_red> I don't understand why fans of your mid table team are so obsessed with United. Shouldn't you be more concerned with qualifying for the Europa league so you can try and keep Suarez, to avoid sinking further?

I don't think it's a case of UEFA not deeming it serious enough, but more a case of them thinking the ref was wrong... though they'll never admit that!

I just can't get my head around the logic of the punishment the games authorities dish out! There is just no sense or consitency in any of it...for a start I was amazed Ferdinand got away with his actions towards the ref, then according to the reporter here on Swedish tv who was in the tunnel after the game, the scenes there with Ferguson and some of the Utd players verbally abusing the ref were "beyond anything she'd ever seen"... And yet no punishment there..instead they give Ferguson this ridiculous fine for snubbing the press conference! The authorities of our beautiful game are an absolute joke!

maybe next time they won't karate kick an opposing player and throw their toys out the pram, then maybe, just maybe, ferguson can be ranked up there with the great Bob Paisley with 3 European Cups to his name. Until then however...
