Capello: Gives his squad instructions

There were no apparent injury problems at Arsenal's London Colney complex, with all outfield players taking part in a group exercise with the ball.

Goalkeepers Robert Green, Ben Foster and Paul Robinson, meanwhile, were put through their paces in a separate session.

There was even the sight of Theo Walcott, although the winger was training with his club team-mates on a different pitch while he recovers from a back problem.

With Walcott out of the squad, Aaron Lennon, Shaun Wright-Phillips and David Beckham are competing for a place on the right flank, with Lennon's performance at the weekend against Slovenia meaning he has been considered the favourite.

Capello has seen Jermain Defoe score five goals in three substitute appearance but Emile Heskey's physical presence could give him the nod against Slaven Bilic's men at Wembley.

It is two years since Croatia came to London and denied England a place at Euro 2008, leading to Steve McClaren's dismissal and Capello's eventual appointment. Only Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Gareth Barry are likely starters among the survivors of that evening.

Croatia, meanwhile, have Luka Modric sidelined and Vedran Corluka suspended.

Should England get the win they require to reach next year's tournament, Capello will have major decisions to trim his squad to 23 - Walcott, Rio Ferdinand and David James will be expected to return when they are fit.

Kick-off 8pm.

'Tactically Inept And Lacking In Belief And Style'

It's fair to say that the 'Moyes Out' brigade is understandably out in force, whilst there are also staunch defences of Mourinho and Arteta. Plus, Liverpool fans can almost taste it.

That's Why We Didn't Want Jose At United

There is plenty of reaction to Mourinho's antics (Isn't that exactly what he wanted?) plus thoughts on Connor Wickham, Fabio Borini, beach balls and Tim Sherwood...
