The Foxes started brightly with Matt Oakley powering a shot over the bar and Andy King pulling an effort wide.

But it was Millwall who created the first serious chance of the game in the 17th minute when David Martin was forced to parry Tresor Kandol's shot with Lewis Grabban driving the loose ball over.

But the Lions weren't to be denied three minutes later when Kandol flicked on and Gary Alexander kept his cool to lift a shot over the advancing Martin and into the net.

A rare chance for the Foxes came in the 77th minute when substitute Paul Dickov fizzed a shot wide before in time added on Kandol was shown a straight red for an ugly challenge on Michael Morrison.
