Evans burst clear from just inside the Bournemouth half and scored with a low shot in the second minute to leave the Cherries without a win.

But 16 minutes later the Macclesfield striker elbowed Bournemouth's Darren Anderton and was shown a straight red card.

Home substitute Jeff Goulding saw his 77th-minute header well-saved by Jon Brain.

Bournemouth almost salvaged a point in the 88th minute, but Anderton's goalbound shot was superbly saved by Brain.
