Hudson volleyed home superbly from 20 yards to put the Millers ahead in the 18th minute.

Bournemouth's hopes of getting back into the game suffered a major blow in the 64th minute when Danny Hollands was sent off for two cautions in the space of just three minutes.

Jamie Green nearly doubled Rotherham's lead two minutes from time but saw his shot hit the crossbar and Jason Pearce almost grabbed a point for the visitors - who have now lost four in a row - in injury time but he was denied by David Stockdale.
