Andy Holt crashed a shot past Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi at the back post as the Cobblers went ahead after 29 minutes in Saturday's clash at Sixfields.

The Bulls created most of the first-half chances and top scorer Steve Guinan skied one great chance over the bar while also crashing a spectacular volley off the angle of post and crossbar.

A cracking 30-yard curling shot from Andy Williams which dipped over Chris Dunn brought Hereford level six minutes after the restart.

But with 21 minutes left, Adebayo Akinfenwa teed up Jason Crowe on the edge of the visitors box and he drilled in a low shot for his eighth goal of the season.
