Leading scorer Peter Thorne gave them the lead in the 12th minute, diverting Dean Furman's shot into the net - a goal hotly disputed by the visitors who claimed he was offside.

Thorne shrugged off their claims to add a second after 32 minutes, sweeping Nicky Law's cross into the net for his 17th goal of the season.

Steve Jones then put the result beyond any doubt, beating the advancing Andy Warrington after latching onto a through-pass from substitute Joe Colbeck.

Warrington also made fine second-half saves to deny Jones before turning a shot from Furman over the crossbar and stopping an effort from Thorne on the line.
