Caleb Folan gave the Tigers a 39th minute lead, only to see their advantage cancelled out 20 minutes from time by Lewis Alessandra.

Both sides started brightly, with George Boateng and Craig Fagan forcing Mark Crossley into acrobatic saves.

At the other end, Demar Phillps saw a low drive well kept out by Matt Duke.

It was the Premier League side, however, that forced the breakthrough when Folan met Fagan's pinpoint cross to power home a header from six yards shortly after the half-hour mark.

Tigers forward Geovanni created the first opening after the break, but once again he was foiled by a fine save from veteran stopper Crossley.

Ian Ashbee saw a powerful header drift narrowly wide on 67 minutes, only to then see Alessandra level matters just three minutes later.

Phil Brown's men failed to deal with a routine free-kick, and when the ball fell to the Latics striker he coolly slotted the equaliser from close range.

Fagan had a late opportunity to snatch victory for the Tigers, but the winger wasted a glorious chance.
