Leicester have given permission for the midfielder, who will remain at Gresty Road until November 10, to play in the competition.

Verma could be handed his full debut against Blackpool after Thordarson hinted at making changes to his side in light of injuries to defender Danny O'Donnell (hip) and striker Clayton Donaldson (ankle).

"I will be assessing the fitness of those two and one or two others," said the Icelander.

"We also have two tough away games coming up at Grimsby and Dagenham so I will think ahead and do what is best because the league is our priority."
