On-loan West Ham striker Sears missed the midweek Carling Cup win over Torquay as he was on international duty with the England Under-21 side, while midfielder Carle played in Australia's win over the Republic of Ireland.

The Eagles are still without summer recruit Stern John, who suffered a nasty elbow injury just half an hour into his debut against Plymouth Argyle on the opening day of the season.

Midfielder Darren Ambrose is playing through the pain of a shoulder injury and should figure again after his two goals on Tuesday night.

Youngster Nathanial Clyne was rested in midweek and will challenge Danny Butterfield for the right-back slot at Ashton Gate.
