Burgess returned to the starting line-up in last weekend's defeat at Leicester but his knee injury flared up and forced him to sit out the 2-1 home win over Newcastle on Wednesday.

Defender Danny Coid (tibia) and forwards Daniel Nardiello (hip), Gary Taylor-Fletcher (ankle ligaments) and Stephen McPhee (knee) remain sidelined.

Ian Holloway's men are in buoyant mood after toppling the previously unbeaten Magpies in midweek and the Seasiders boss said: "What excites me is that when they all get fit I haven't half got some nice dilemmas."
