Osbourne: Knee injury

Osbourne has sustained a knee injury and did not train on Thursday, and with Coleman mindful of burnout within his small squad he is likely to rest the impressive youngster for the visit of Boro.

That will mean a return for Gunnarsson who has so far struggled this term to hit the heights of last season, making his last start in the 3-0 defeat at Blackpool.

Left-back Patrick van Aanholt has resumed training following his groin injury but it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to be considered for this weekend. Fellow defender Elliott Ward has made a complete recovery from his knee problem and is battling for a starting place.

However, defender James McPake (shoulder), midfielder David Bell (ankle) and goalkeeper Danny Ireland (emergency bowel surgery) are still out.

Coleman will be desperate to get back to winning ways after last weekend's 3-2 defeat at Preston and, in the process, get one over on close friend and former Crystal Palace team-mate Gareth Southgate.
