Alexander has been sidelined for two matches with a heel injury but stepped up his training towards the end of this week and should travel to his old stomping ground.

Fellow frontman Jason Price (thigh) and defender Tony Craig (back) are also back in training but will not be risked until next week.

Winger Chris Hackett came off with cramp during last weekend's win over Huddersfield and will be fine, while on-loan Reading wideman James Henry managed 20 minutes following his hamstring injury.

But Ashley Grimes (hamstring), Zak Whitbread (hip), Paul Robinson (ankle), Danny Senda (Achilles) and Pat O'Connor (cruciate) are still on the sidelines.
