The central defender was sent off in the defeat at Derby at the weekend for two bookable offences and will serve a one-match ban.

Lewin Nyatanga and Louis Carey are in contention to replace McCombe, with the former back to full fitness following a virus and the latter having recovered from a knee injury.

Cole Skuse could feature after being laid low by a heavy cold but goalkeeper Dean Gerken will not be considered despite returning to training following a virus.

David Clarkson and Danny Haynes are pushing for starting berths as the Robins go in search of a first win in five games while Ivan Sproule is also in the reckoning.
