The former Crewe defender suffered a hamstring injury at Gillingham last weekend and remains sidelined, so Michael Spillane will continue at full-back.

On-loan Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster is available after missing the 4-0 win over Leyton Orient in midweek through suspension but Lambert may choose to keep faith with 18-year-old Declan Rudd after he kept a clean sheet.

Gary Doherty will hope to keep his place in central defence after being recalled against Orient after five weeks in the reserves.

Midfielders Matt Gill (knee) and Owain Tudur Jones (calf) are still out while defender Michael Nelson is out for another month after damaging ankle ligaments.
