Fry impressed against MK Dons last weekend and should keep his place in the starting line-up.

However, fellow loan signing Scott Vernon has seen his loan spell cut short after damaging ankle ligaments just 43 minutes into his debut and the striker has now returned to Colchester.

The Gills have been hit by the news that Danny Jackman requires surgery on his dislocated shoulder and will be out until after the New Year.

Fellow long-term absentee Simon King is off his crutches after surgery on damaged ankle ligaments but the defender will have to wait until the festive period before making his return to the first team.

Mark McCammon is also still out but fellow forwards Luis Cumbers and Andy Pugh have returned from loan spells and could be included after featuring for the reserves on Wednesday.
