Sorensen: Will return to starting line-up

Sorensen: Will return to starting line-up

Sorensen pulled out of last weekend's win at Tottenham with flu and although Steve Simonsen stepped in and performed heroics, he will make way.

Pulis has a number of other players pushing for recalls to the starting line-up and could be tempted to shake up his side for Saturday's Staffordshire derby.

Mama Sidibe's return from a knee injury was one of the few positives from Wednesday's 4-0 Carling Cup defeat at Portsmouth and he is again likely to be on the bench.

Tuncay also performed well at Portsmouth and is close to making his first Premier League start, according to Pulis, while Glenn Whelan is another to have pressed his claim with the winner at White Hart Lane.

Robert Huth is still suspended so Andy Wilkinson will continue at right-back.

Potters (from): Sorensen, Wilkinson, Shawcross, Faye, Collins, Delap, Whelan, Whitehead, Diao, Etherington, Beattie, Tuncay, Fuller, Higginbotham, Cort, Lawrence, Kitson, Pugh, Simonsen, Sidibe.
