Winger Hammill and Iceland international midfielder Hallfredsson both sustained knocks in the defeat to Manchester United and could undergo late fitness tests.

But on-loan Stoke defenders Ryan Shotton and Carl Dickinson and midfielder Nathan Doyle, on loan from Hull, plus striker Andy Gray are all expected to return to the squad after being ineligible for the midweek Carling Cup clash against United.

Martin Devaney would have been in contention should Hammill miss out, but he has joined MK Dons on loan this week, so Jamal Campbell-Ryce comes into the reckoning.

Manager Mark Robins has no other new injury or suspension worries as his side look to bounce back from two successive league defeats, which have left them four points above the relegation zone.
