The Swans, who were thrashed 3-0 at Newcastle last weekend, are already missing captain Garry Monk (calf) and will now be without Alan Tate.

The former Manchester United trainee picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the defeat at St James' Park and will sit out the clash at London Road.

Spanish defender Albert Serran is likely to deputise for the City vice-captain, making his first appearance of the season.

Meanwhile, the Swans, who lost their 11-game unbeaten run last weekend, will definitely be without striker Stephen Dobbie, who has an ankle injury, while Mark Gower is also expected to miss out with a hamstring problem.
