Pools were dealt a huge blow this week when it was revealed Brown had undergone surgery on a lateral cartilage tear in his knee and faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

With Denis Behan also out until the New Year, Colin Larkin still struggling with a hamstring problem and the deadline for loan deals having passed, director of sport Chris Turner's attacking options are limited.

Adam Boyd and Armann Bjornsson started up front in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat at Carlisle, with the latter opening the scoring after five minutes, and the pair are likely to keep their places.

Turner is boosted by the return of midfielder Ritchie Jones after suspension and he should come straight back into the starting line-up.
