The Irishman may be joined on the sidelines by Lee Martin as the talented midfielder missed the goalless draw against Bristol City with a heel injury and is still rated as doubtful.

Goalkeeper Richard Wright and Luciano Civelli are long-term absentees, both damaging cruciate ligaments.

The game will come too soon for David Norris, however, with the midfielder nearing a return to full fitness after a knee ligament injury.

Ipswich will be looking to extend their unbeaten record to nine but will need their front-line to start working better - during the previous eight games they have only found the back of the net seven times.
