Nigel Pearson will hope the postponement of last weekend's clash with Cardiff has given the duo the time they need to recover.

Berner was a doubt for the trip to Wales after a calf injury forced the Swiss full-back off during the victory over Sheffield Wednesday, while centre-half Brown was nursing a knock.

However, that game being called off means that on-loan striker Martyn Waghorn still has two games of a three-match suspension to serve. He will miss the Blades' Boxing Day visit to the Walkers Stadium and the trip to Doncaster two days later.

Club captain Stephen Clemence continues to progress in his recovery from a persistent heel injury and the midfielder could end a 21-month absence by making a long-awaited comeback in January.

Kick-off is at 6pm.
