Holt sat out the 0-0 draw at Barnet on Monday through a one-game suspension while on-loan Middlesbrough full-back Johnson was ruled out after his initial 93-day stay expired.

Johnson has extended his loan now though and will start while Rodgers must now serve a one-match suspension after he accumulated five bookings.

Striker Steve Guinan (groin) and Liam Davis (foot) are still ruled out as the Cobblers look for a morale-boosting win.

Sampson said: "Steve Guinan's recovery is going quite slowly at the moment and I think he will be out for at least another month.

"Liam Davis is still with the physio and I doubt he will figure in the next couple of weeks."
