After a home draw against Ipswich and a defeat at Swansea in the Championship, City's woes continued on Saturday as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Cardiff.

Pearson made three changes for the fourth-round tie in the Welsh capital and he is expected to make some changes again.

It remains to be seen whether leading scorer Matty Fryatt will be risked with league leaders Newcastle the visitors to the Walkers Stadium at the weekend.

However, the likes of Andy King, Lloyd Dyer and Steve Howard will come back into the reckoning.

Former Newcastle winger Nolberto Solano may be included in the squad for the first time.
