Holt, who has netted 23 goals this season, has missed the last three matches through suspension after being sent off in the 1-0 win over Brentford on January 23.

But he will go straight back into the line-up as City look to bounce back after their 16-game unbeaten streak - and eight-match winning run - came to an end following a 2-1 defeat at Millwall last Saturday.

Cody McDonald would have made way for Holt but the striker is struggling to be fit for the game after sustaining a thigh muscle injury. Defender Zak Whitbread is also a doubt with a calf problem.

Defenders Jens Berthel Askou (broken metatarsal) and Michael Spillane (hamstring) have made two reserve-team outings as they step up their recovery but the latter is expected to be on the bench should Whitbread miss out.
