The Iron were thrashed 5-1 by Leicester on Saturday and Adkins refused to make any substitutions during the game so as to subject his starting line-up to a humiliating experience.

Captain Cliff Byrne will miss the Glanford Park clash as he serves the second of a two-game ban while winger Garry Thompson is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Andrew Wright could come into the defence at the expense of Michael Raynes while creative midfielder Martyn Woolford is also likely to return to the side.

Loan winger Donal McDermott will be involved as Adkins looks to ease his side's relegation worries with a win.

Saturday's defeat left them just one point and one place above the drop zone, with two of the sides below them having played a game less.
