The 36-year-old made his second debut for the Chairboys as a second-half substitute in the 1-0 win over Millwall on Saturday but lasted just six minutes before he was sent-off.

Ainsworth starts a three-game ban after allegedly elbowing Lions defender Tony Craig but manager Gary Waddock has defended the former QPR man.

Waddock said: "Gareth is an honest player. He is aggressive, but he's not the type of player to throw elbows.

"He said he hasn't done anything and I take his word for that."

Waddock remains without defender Leon Johnson (knee), Adam Hinshelwood (knee), Ian Westlake (ankle) and Matt Bloomfield (knee).
