The left-back fell awkwardly at Portman Road but X-rays have confirmed no bones are broken and he will play.

Fellow defender Rob Kozluk and winger Adam Hammill (hamstring) are expected to return to contention for the weekend but will not be included for the Ashton Gate clash.

Young pair Jacob Butterfield and Reuben Noble-Lazarus were second-half substitutes on Saturday and manager Mark Robins, who has no new injury or suspension problems, must decide whether to hand them bigger roles or stick with the same starting line-up.

Barnsley have climbed up to 12th place in the table in recent weeks but on current form lack the consistency to launch a late play-off challenge.
