Goals from Liam Feeney and Brett Pitman proved enough for the Cherries and Accrington did not manage a shot on target until the 93rd minute when substitute Gary King brought a regulation save from Shwan Jalal.

Bournemouth took the lead in the 18th minute when Feeney scuffed home a shot from 15 yards.

Lee Bradbury and Danny Hollands missed chances to increase the lead and it was not until the 78th minute that Pitman got Bournemouth's second.

Feeney's shot was turned onto the bar by goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and Pitman ran in the rebound.
