The 25-year-old has been sidelined for six months due to a hip injury, but came through his first 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek unscathed.

Fellow defenders Danny Livesey (hamstring) and Peter Murphy (knock) are still struggling and manager Greg Abbott will again be without Kevan Hurst (knee), Joe Anyinsah (double hernia) and Andy Cook (foot).

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and Matty Robson have both been receiving treatment for their respective injuries and are not expected to feature.

The Cumbrians will be looking to bounce back after losing for the first time in five league matches at Charlton on Monday in their bid to finish the season in the top half of the table.
