The on-loan Stoke defender returned to training this week following a knee injury and the Tykes' medical staff will continue to monitor his fitness before making a decision on his availability.

Striker Daniel Bogdanovic, who this week turned down an offer of a new contract at Oakwell, is unlikely to feature due to a hamstring strain.

Midfielder Anderson de Silva is also unlikely to play any part against the Rs as he continues his recovery from a thigh problem.

On-loan midfielder Emil Hallfredsson, who broke his foot two weeks ago, is unavailable for selection after returning to parent club Reggina.

The Tykes will be looking to halt a run of eight league games without a win.
