Donaldson: Had a good game

It was mainly one-way traffic in the first half of Saturday's League Two clash at the Don Valley Stadium as the visitors made all the running. Rotherham started brightly enough, and Kevin Ellison had a shot well saved after three minutes and two minutes later Nicky Law headed against the crossbar.

But after that Crewe took charge with Clayton Donaldson tormenting the home defence. He shot just wide after 16 minutes, had another goal-bound effort deflected for a corner and then he smacked a shot against the underside of the crossbar, but the ball came down and out and was scrambled clear.

And five minutes later Luke Murphy's header brought a great finger tip save from Andy Warrington in the Rotherham goal. The second half was played in a torrential downpour that left the pitch standing in water and decent football impossible, and Crewe were nothing like so dominant.

For Rotherham, Adam Le Fondre shot over the crossbar after 63 minutes and substitute Drewe Broughton scooped a shot wide seven minutes later.

At the other end Ashley Westwood could have won it for the visitors, but his 87th-minute shot was tipped over by Warrington.
