Former Wolves winger Bennett hit a tremendous 25-yard drive into the top corner following a cross-field pass by Alan Navarro in Saturday's League One encounter.

Boss Gus Poyet gave a debut to teenage goalkeeper Mitchell Walker, and he impressed with saves from Dean Bowditch and Kieran Murtagh before Bennett's goal.

Yeovil produced their best spell midway through the second half and Scott Murray fired the ball over the crossbar when well placed.

Brighton substitute Ashley Barnes forced Yeovil keeper Alex McCarthy to save well with his legs late on.
