Defender Hazell missed last weekend's dismal 3-0 defeat at Yeovil with a hip injury and midfielder Smalley was also absent with a chest complaint.

However, both men are available to caretaker boss Martin Gray as the Latics seek to end the season on a rare high following Dave Penney's departure on Thursday.

Injuries bit deep into Penney's squad throughout the campaign and prevented the former Doncaster and Darlington boss building any kind of momentum.

Players such as Joe Jacobsen, Rob Purdie and Dean Furman are still sidelined while defender Hasney Aljofree was this week released.

The 31-year-old made his one and only start for the Latics in last weekend's defeat at Yeovil.
