Partington has been called up to the Wales Under-21 squad for their clash with Italy on Friday but manager Eddie Howe is hopeful he will be allowed to meet up with the squad on Wednesday rather than Tuesday.

There is no chance of Josh McQuoid being allowed to do the same, though, as he is already in the Czech Republic with the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad.

Also missing at Dean Court will be veteran striker Steve Fletcher, who is sidelined with a hamstring strain. He may return for Saturday's trip to Torquay.

Shaun Cooper (hip) is out until the new year and Jeff Goulding is out for eight weeks, but captain Danny Hollands has started running again after knee surgery.
