Former Sunderland playmaker Thornton missed Saturday's 3-3 draw at Yeovil after twisting his knee against Charlton in midweek.

However, ex-West Brom midfielder Adam Chambers makes a welcome return and could be in line for his first appearance of the season after overcoming a calf injury.

Loanee Andros Townsend has been given permission to play by parent club Tottenham, while Ryan Jarvis is pressing for a start after climbing off the bench to earn the O's a point at the weekend.

Rookie Darryl Sydes is the only other injury absentee with an ankle problem.
