Fabregas in contention for Villa date

Arsenal could have captain Cesc Fabregas back from a hamstring injury in time to face Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Fabregas will have a late fitness test, while Armand Traore will also undergo a test on an identical problem.

Arsene Wenger will still be without Nicklas Bendtner, Tomas Rosicky and Gael Clichy.

Dutch striker Robin van Persie is another player on the sidelines and Wenger has confessed that he may look to sign a forward in the transfer window.
