Sweeney: Set to face former club

Defender Lancashire, on loan from Southampton, and midfielder Sweeney missed the Mariners' surprise FA Cup defeat at home to non-League Bath City on Saturday through suspension - Lancashire for his red card in the league draw with Accrington and Sweeney after being booked for the fifth time this season in the same game.

Sweeney joined Grimsby from Leeds on a free transfer in the summer and will be making his first return to Elland Road.

Caretaker boss Neil Woods could also be boosted by the return of Adrian Forbes. A groin injury ruled the striker out at the weekend but he resumed training on Monday and could come back into the reckoning.
